A round chin mask is from the Fang Peoples. A wood that is colored with kaolin (chiny clay) Ngil mask from Gabon or Cameroon. Worn with full costume in a night masquerade to settle disputes and quell misbehavior, this calm visage was terrifying to wrong-doers. I have created the mask as a hanging display on a cracked wedge of Texas Ebony swinging against a metal bar above two crossing metal branches with red tips in a bowl. The swing is attached using a leather strap so that it sweeps freely in the winds and can be seen by all “wrong-evil doers”.
