Throwback: My First LIKE

Time is truly enslaved by no man. That is true for both sides of Time. When Matt Zoller Seitz wrote this Events Calendar piece for The Dallas Observer it was my most hoped for thing. Shakespeare Books on lower Greenville was the most significant literary spot on Dallas’ earth. Soon, I would be nearly everywhere with poetry and oratorical excursions from Universities-to-stages, behind radio microphones and UNT Press/Center for Texas Studies, editing an anthology. #jimlee #Franvick Lectures, books, magazines, festivals and a decade with The Gifted Student Institute at SMU guiding students thru Argument and Public Discourse followed. It was a dual life as an entire different crowd enjoyed a young Black Quilter who told stories about his creations.
It seems that #mattzollerseitz was the most important “like” of that time before excelling with his family to The New Jersey Star Ledger, a Pulitzer nomination and leading Roger Ebert’s sanctum, amongst his own critical and thought provoking books. In this time, as I was back then, I’m eternally grateful.
